Steve Ladner graduated from Oklahoma University with a BS in Geology in 1980 and began his career with Harper Oil in Oklahoma City.  In 1988,  He returned to school to pursue a Masters Degree,  graduating in 1989.  He has worked for Kerr McGee,  Chesapeake,  Range Resources,  and retiring from BP as Director of Geology.  During his over 40 year career,  he has worked the majority of time in the Midcontinent, with extensive work in the Anadarko Basin,  Southern Oklahoma,  Arkoma Basin and Kansas.  Steve has  also worked the Permian,  Powder River Basin,  Haynesville,  Eagle Ford,  DJ Basin, and Marcellus. In 2020,  he retired and started Ladner Consulting LLC.  Specializing in exploration,  evaluation,  and prospect generation n the Midcontinent.  Business had been strong and Steve has served over 12 different clients.  Steve is open to any new clients and looks forward to finding economic solutions to problems and exploring new ideas.

 

He previously served as President of the Oklahoma Geological Society and is currently the Co Chair for the 2023 AAPG Midcontinent Sectional  being held in OKC in the fall of 2023.  Steve also served on the AAPG House of Delegates and on the Oklahoma University Alumni Advisory Board. 

 

Steve married Jenny in 1989,  and they have raised four children in Norman.  As parents they committed time and resources to education,  serving on the Norman Public Schools Foundation and the Norman Community Foundation
